User Roles and Permissions in Lucanet xP&A

Overview

In xP&A, users can control user access and permissions at three levels:

  • Organization-level permissions (i.e. user roles, teams)
  • Model-level access
  • Folder-level access
Organization-Level Permissions and User Roles

At the Organization level, there are three user roles with different types of permissions:

  • Administrators: Administrators can create, edit, and share models. In addition, they can also add and remove people to and from the organization, and create teams, e.g. Finance Team or Marketing Team.
  • Editors: Editors can create, edit, and share models.
  • Data collectors: Data collectors can edit models but not all actions are allowed. They can write comments, annotate charts, input values for variables, update dimension items. But they cannot add, delete, or update visuals, variables, groups, and sections or add, delete, update dimensions, models, folders, or data sources.
  • Viewers: Viewers can view dashboards shared with the organization but cannot access underlying models to make changes. Additionally, viewers can create their own models, but cannot share models with the organization.

The user roles are assigned in the Administration section of the Lucanet CFO Solution Platform (see User Management).

Model-Level and Folder-Level Permissions

The permissions a user has for actions on a model depends on the level the model (or the folder the model is contained in) is shared with the user.

Sharing options for an entire model are:

  • Full access
  • Can edit
  • Can view

In addition, a model can be shared via public or private link or a only a limited view of the model can be shared.

For more information, see Sharing a Model and Using Views.
